Monkeys' great escape from research center

A troop of 15 monkeys escaped from a primate research center in Japan by catapulting themselves over a five-meter high electric fence.

But if their bid for freedom suggests a superior intelligence, what happened next was disappointing.

Having made their escape, they were not sure what to do next and decided to hang around outside the perimeter of the Kyoto University research center in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture.

According to the Japan Times, they were then recaptured by research staff who lured them back inside with peanuts.
