The new type of computer can process 640 terabytes of data in one billionth of a second

HP is developing a new type of computer called The Machine that's six times more powerful than an existing server, and consumes 80 times less energy. more

  2. 80 times less energy? Seriously? On a science page you use language like that? Use maths to work out what that actually means and you'll find you've just said it actually creates energy.

To put this in perspective, if that's true, that's close to the processing power of all the data in history that the human race has accumulated to about 2011 through books, movies, content etc (and assuming the last two years have generated 9 times as much as that), can this be processed in under a second? 640exp12 X 1 exp9 equals 640exp21 per second? Someone tell me my maths is wrong! This is scary that we have become so prolific and so dependent in view of the potential for cybercrime.
