Highway 178 through Trona to Death Valley

FB Top Comments | The town of Trona is a desert wasteland, like a 1950's nuclear test ground , the hills have eyes type of stuff.. if you blink you'll miss it , but hwy 178 floods during rain and they fix it yearly | My friend has been on this road and it actualy looks like this its average temp from the sulfer and the sun is about 112-122 and no one uses this road and the reason its falling apart is because the sulfer actualy tears the road apart at a molecular level and its built on top of sand so it does this as well | Sorry but your wrong the reason the road foes this is due to ice thaw, the freezing temperature's in an evening create ice particles inside the road breaking the road apart, then the sun rises heats the road and the expansion of the road in the heats makes it collapse like so  |
Chuck Norris went for a run through that road. | the place where Goku and Superman went for a walk | Fake I'm from a town not far from there called 29 palms | all roads in India are like that... so not scary enough |  Cause our tax money is goin to illegals and the enemy. And vacation trips for the presidents wife. | Looks like angry hulk just passed by....  | nature is taking itself back | Bad Engineering! | Didn't AC/DC write a song about this?! | That's actually well past trona, headed towards Shashone. It's from the flash floods out there, they take out entire sections of road constantly 0.o | Looks better than most of the roads in Norfolk. | I think this road goes to jabbas palace! | That would be a wicked ride on a dirt bike! | did u mean highway to helldid u mean highway to hell | At 36.4141ºN 116.8021ºW if anyone was wondering. Not Hwy. 178; Hwy. 190 in Furnace Creek Wash. Quite a ways from Trona; about 55 miles northeast. |
Heat causes expansion, which causes road problems it is a very common world wide problem | Looks like Jackson Mississippi to me minus the mountains | Wealthiest country in the world, ladies and gentlemen.. | Guess flash floods didn't cross the engineer's minds? | is it just me .i see lightning mcqueen driving with a frikkin electric pole in his back | Was using hills have eyes as a reference to the way it looks out there.. desolate.  |  Erosion-water in flash floods washed it away | I lived out there, in Furnace Creek when it flooded in 2005. It wiped out a huge stretch of road. Is this a current photo, meaning, did it happen again, or is this from then? I remember having to sit there and wait hours for the pilot car if I missed it. | looks like satan came to earth and destroyed it then went back to hell. lol |
Heat damage - compounded by flash flooding !? | Mother Nature can wreck a lot of things, I will defeat her though! | When and I took this route the asphalt was completely gone and it was 121 degrees and pitch black dark.  | Fast and furious here we come | We've had to play youth football in Trona, yikes. I can't imagine finding the road in this condition. |  Can see why they say road to death valley. |
It's called Death Valley for a reason... If you could make it there |  It's real people. Do you think someone would travel this far into the desert to put 3-d graphics on the road? Lol | Perhaps less bombs should be bought so more can be spend on road maintenance |
