The Story of Peng Shuilin

In life we keep complaining about what is or why we don’t have. Half the time we seem dissatisfied, though full-bodied and free to choose. Fat people say,”I want to be slim.” Skinny people say,”I want to be fatte
r.” Poor people want to be rich and rich are never satisfied with what they have.

PENG Shuilin is 78cms high. He was born in Hunan Province , China . In 1995, in Shenzhen, a freight truck sliced his body in half. His lower body and legs were beyond repair. Surgeons sewed up his torso. Peng Shuilin, spent nearly two years in hospital in Shenzhen, southern China, undergoing a series of operations to re-route nearly every major organ or system inside his body. Peng kept exercising his arms, building up strength, washing his face and brushing his teeth.

He survived against all odds.

Considering Peng’s plight, doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing devised an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body, with two bionic legs attached.

You have a whole body. You have feet. Now you have met a man who has no feet. His life is a feat of endurance, a triumph of the human spirit in overcoming extreme adversity. Next time you want to complain about something trivial, don’t. Remember Peng Shulin instead. ©

The definition of a parasite is "an organism that spends a significant portion of its life in or on the living tissue of a host organism and which causes harm to the host without immediately killing it." Parisitol
ogy is the study of parasites.

The definition of a parasite sounds like a perfect description of what government has become. The political class, its cronies and its dependents are parasites. The host is the productive sector of the economy. One lives at the expense of the other. One is "taking," the other "making."

Thomas Jefferson observed:

If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy. ... I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.

More than 150 years ago, Frederic Bastiat commented on what he saw happening in France:

It is easy to understand why the law is used by the legislator to destroy in varying degrees among the rest of the people their personal independence by slavery, their liberty by oppression, and their property by plunder. This is done for the benefit of the person who makes the law, and in proportion to the power that he holds.

Even the fall of Rome, widely attributed to "bread and circuses," attracted Will Rogers' attention:

Ancient Rome declined because it had a Senate, now what's going to happen to us with both a House and a Senate?"

The parasite-host analogy would seem to be a reasonable basis for a general theory explaining the rise and fall of civilizations. Assuming someone has not already milked it, it could make an interesting dissertation topic. However, in most academic settings implicating the State in the failure of civilizations could jeopardize your career.

Politicians, unlike actual parasites, generally understand the ramifications of decisions. Other than those with IQs below room temperature (make your own estimate of how many that be), politicians know the precarious condition of the host.

Is it rational for an understanding parasite to destroy the host upon which it feeds? After all, if the host dies, so do the parasites.

Self-interest in government is especially troublesome because constraints imposed by markets are absent in government.

Those in power are constrained only by the laws they impose upon themselves and periodic ballot box judgments. The power of incumbency suggests the latter is of limited effect. If self-interest conflicts with public service and laws are ineffective, self-interest is served.

Non-economist David Brin suggests politicians have less character than the average citizen. He attributes this to a perverse self-selection process:

It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power.

Albert J. Nock preceded David Brin and was even more damning in his assessment of the political class:

Taking the State wherever found, striking into its history at any point, one sees no way to differentiate the activities of its founders, administrators and beneficiaries from those of a professional-criminal class

If Public Choice theory is valid (and it is), how does one explain the unwillingness of the political class to save the host? When the host dies, so do the parasites. Do we have an instance here where politicians are not acting in their own self-interest?

The answer is that political parasites are acting rationally by allowing the host to perish. The key to understanding this anomaly is that curing the host would require radical medicine in the form of massive spending cuts. These cuts would require dismantling of various entitlements and much of the welfare state. Even with this medicine, it might be too little, too late to succeed.

The reason that the cure will not even be tried is that any attempt to do so would be politically fatal for whoever proposed it. Voters believe that government is the source of free goodies. Too many believe they are entitled to be supported by government. Anyone proposing meaningful spending cuts would likely be subjected to political execution at the earliest election.

Nothing is more valued to the political mind than attaining and retaining office. That is why the debt ceiling deal was such a fraud. Neither party pushed for meaningful spending cuts. Both postured for voters. Both wanted a new credit card and got the largest one ever issued.

Political parasites rationally chose to continue the plunder and exploitation knowing that it ensured long-term death of the host. In classic Keynesian short-termism ("in the long-run we are all dead"), politicians chose to remain in the trough to continue feeding on the host.

The decision to destroy the host may not seem rational to the rest of us, but it is clearly in the best interest of the current parasites. Death for them at some future uncertain date is a better than death at the next election. They chose what was in their best interest but not the country's.

Until the host dies, the current parasites will exploit for as long as they can. They have chosen a form of Kevorkian economics, managed suicide for the host economy. Unlike Kevorkian, they intend to keep the host alive as long as possible enabling them to maximize their time in the trough.

The rest of us will be left to pick up the pieces when the collapse occurs. The parasites will be dead in a political sense but likely living in a different country.

  Million true!
That's why i started to invent a pesticide that illuminate our politicians... Hehe..|
My understanding of politics and politicians is to plan, scheme and manipulate situations to benefit oneself. So you're right on target with this :3| indeed perfect adjective..:D share it for more.. blood suckers!!!| but its the voters who produce these parasites| but we don't have any choice to choose.. If we don't vote it is an illegal when it comes to their law.. Horrific Whale Slaughter in Faroe Islands - GOING ON RIGHT NOW

150 Pilot Whales murdered in just one day!!!

Hundreds of pilot whales are slaughtered every year on the Faroe Islands, a small group of islands north of Europe. Faroe men go out with boats to drive these animals into a fjord using nets to block their way back to sea. The whales then beach themselves, or are pulled ashore with a blunt hook lodged in their blowholes. Once beached and defenceless these whales are killed by having their spinal cords and major blood vessels cut. It can take up to three and a half minutes for a whale to eventually die.

The Faroese people consider the hunt an important part of their culture and history. We say ENOUGH!

Please SIGN & SHARE the petition demanding an end to this annual massacre:
sory for my english but apart from the hunt on them, tradition like these wont help them to survive... The lands which you seak of can imort meat or fish... but not whales !!!! unless you wanna say to your grandchildren, here... the elephant is the biggest animal on Earth... You can call it whatever you want but WE are nature and we have control... Don't be small minded, it has nothing to do with vegatariens... | I never said those WEREN'T mammals. HENCE the reason I didn't use them when I made my comment. It has nothing to do with my opinion. It has to do with you trying to be some kind of smart ass because I don't agree with YOU. I said plain and simple, if you don't like it? Don't share it, or sign the petition. If that makes it seem like I'm some kind of dick?then so be it. I never said people couldn't have a different opinion than mine.. sooo..... yeah...... uh...hmm. | the one who is really ignorant are the f* people on this picture, ignorant about the lives that they are killing :'( I will sign | chickens are birds and cows pigs and the rest are breed in captivity as a food source!!!!!!!!!11 these whales are blood wild and supposed to be free u dumb ass | Horrific meat slaughter going on all over the world - just because these are whales are their lives more meaningful than cows, pigs, chickens and all other animals that are slaughtered for food and other necessities - ps I am not a vegetarian | Okay, enough of this "Why should I care about an animal?" crap. Even if you don't give a rat's ass about wildlife or the environment as a whole, we rely on the survival of other animals. We're just as much a part of the food chain as those whales. Whales eat smaller fish, and without the whales, those fish overpopulate. If those fish overpopulate, their prey die out, and so on, which eventually affects fishing patterns for humans. Contrary to popular belief, caring about the environment is not only moral, but necessary. | these are barbaric traditions | It's a good point David, but unles you extend that to all animals i have to take issue with the thinking behind it. Pilot whales are not endangered, they are, in this instance at least, not hunted on an industrial level and the faroese only kill what they need need, to eat.
In fact were we to consume fish in the same sustainable way there wouldn't be the issue with overfishing we have today. So again, vegans aside- no-one has a right to judge.
The fact is were they to import ALL their food tehy wouldn't be able to exist and would face either leaving the islands, or starving.
I would argue it's small minded to think it's ok to eat 'traditional' meat (especially from industrialised farms) like lamb, but not to catch a wild animal and eat it, just because then you have to see pictures like this. What do you think an abattoir looks like inside? |
Oh well... My last name is Vodka at the moment... I'm proud to see the world as it is even when I'm drunk as fuck... Most of us will never see it allthough they like this page... They feel like the rulers of the world while they know shit... If they don't even understand the problem here which is about whales... What can you expect than? | Ignoring your inability to express your self without resorting to ad hominem attacks; so we shouldn't eat game (rabbit, boar, venison etc) then, according to your 'thinking', or fish for that matter...
Not only that, but i take it you're one of those that, quite guilt free, will pay £2 for a chicken, or £3 for pork chops, or eat at McDonalds, ignoring the fact that it's only that cheap because those animals lived in such squalid, disgusting conditions?
And there, we have an almost text book example of hypocrisy. |
omg i have never been so angry at a picture!!!!! grrrrrrrrrr this is why i hate humanity we just meaninglessly butcher everything beautiful wake the fuck up you heartless evil people, we are meant to protect our world not fucking destroy it | my point isn't that this is ok, my point is, how can this be considered worse than modern industrialised farming techniques?
Yes these animals suffer, and no they shouldn't.
But they suffer for 3 minutes. Some of the beef, or lamb, or pork some here will happily eat has suffered anywhere from 6 weeks (chicken) up to 2 years (beef) living in such appalling conditions that they have to be fed antibiotics just to fend off the infections they'd otherwise be riddled with. the only difference is the meat these people eat daily has its (literally life long) suffering nicely tucked away in what we laughably call farms, out of sight, out of mind. If you can't kill it yourself, don't eat it.
In the spirit of this page, don't believe/disbelieve me how your meat is raised- research it. |
There is a difference between killin' for food & survivin'...& just butcherin' an animal for the hell of it....This isn't bein done because one has to eat...this is done because it's a cultural event....This is disgustin'..& to defend this act of butchery & slaughter is just as twisted as the ppl ridin' the bodies of these dead whales!! | "It has to do with you trying to be some kind of smart ass because I don't agree with YOU."
Not trying to be anything other than objective, which you are clear
ly struggling with.
I'm quoting you now:
NOT citations. I understand the importance of FACTS (and obviously citations are important to prove them), but a lot of the time here I am looking for YOUR OPINIONS"
I've done nothing other than this. You don't want them, or have difficulty reading them, don't ask for people's opinions, and certainly don't start accusing them of trying to be smart asses, or resorting to other childish name calling. If i'm annoying you, i'll leave. That's fine, but you should perhaps edit your "about me" section as it's clearly not the case what is currently written there.
Not trolling, not meaning to annoy anyone, just doing what i thought this page was for. Clearly i was mistaken. All the best |
I'm pretty sure I'm aware of what I said to you, and what this page is about.. but thanks for bringing it to my attention. Maybe if you should perhaps edited your approach instead of your comments?....And asking someone if a cow is a reptile? Is being a smart ass.. just saying. Feel free to do as you wish. Notice - you're the only one I'm speaking to on this whole post? I obviously don't have problems with opinions. PLEASE think before you speak to me.. ty. | OH and this is what my issue is with killing whales. Pig - 25 years
Cow - 20 years
Chicken 3-6 years
Sheep 10-12 years
Whale 40-200 years |
I think, Nicole, that you would be better reading through the chain of messages we have exchanged and perhaps they will make more sense (reference my comment on chickens- you may not have meant to but your message appeared to relate to something i'd posted about chicken).
Ultimately i suspect we share an opinion on this matter but it's being expressed differently. I'm not saying this slaughter is ok, I'm saying it's no worse than intensive/battery farming.
Either way, this is obviously winding you up, and it wasn't my intention, so i'm out. |
Some Countries have been cuttin' the clitorisis of young children & sellin' some as sex slaves thru the black market for years...but it doesn't make it right! | Oh well some people will never understand... Isn't this why you made this page? When they are even blind after looking and reading about this lovely red coloured things.... Well give up and use your energy for people who have an open mind. | This is for food. This is a harvest.Im sure they aren't laughing. We have K-9 teeth. We also have herbivore molars as well. These are the cards we were delt in this life.Eat ,live and enjoy. | Mother Nature will have her revenge justice is slow in the world especially when nature is the victim but eventually human beings will pay for their gross excess eventually I can o... | There are written records of this happening since 1584 -- this is a cultural event that helps to feed many people. while the pictures are explicit -- are they any more graphic than what happens to the cows that become our steaks? | Whales r not fish they r warm blooded mammals just like us they deserve to be alive just like us they r intelligant and lovely creatures of this earth  | This is horrific,We should start to sign petitions for the unlawful slaughter of humans too, that goes on by the millions only by a few for no reason! | -- FB Comments --

Finger Monkey: The Smallest True Monkey.

The pygmy marmoset or dwarf monkey (Cebuella pygmaea) is a quadrupedal New World monkey native to the rainforest understories of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru, and northern Bolivia, with an altitudinal range of 200 to 940 m.It is most common in river edge forests, but also can be found in secondary forest and moderately disturbed forest. The pygmy marmoset has been viewed as somewhat different from typical marmosets, most of which are classified in the genera Callithrix and Mico, and thus is accorded its own genus, Cebuella within the family Callitrichidae. Pygmy marmosets live 11-12 years in the wild, but in zoos, they live into their early twenties.

It is one of the smallest primates, and the smallest true monkey, with its body length ranging from 14 to 16 centimetres (5.5 to 6.3 in) (excluding the 15-to-20-centimetre (5.9 to 7.9 in) tail). Males weigh around 140 grams (4.9 oz), and females only 120 grams (4.2 oz). Nicknames for this monkey often refer to its diminutiveness, for example: mono de bolsillo ("pocket monkey"), leoncito ("little lion").

Look at the soul in those eyes.| Mountain lion Tamarins are now endangered species.|

Ammonite: The Animal that Transforms into a Gemstone

More than 65 million years ago lived a squid like animal in the deep oceans. This was an animal called ammonite, it had a thin shell that with polishing becomes one of the rarest gemstones on earth. Ammolite is made from the fossilized remains of these shells, brought to light after millions of years.

Ammolite is almost opal like in its iridescent colors and found mostly in the Rocky Mountains of North America. A biogenic gemstone, because it comes from organic matter (like amber or pearls), it was given official gemstone status in 1981.

Unlike opal, or other gemstones, the play of its colors comes from interference with light rebounding from layers of tiny plates. The ammloite is extremely thin, often showing a dragon skin appearance or shattering due to the pressure of sediment it has been lying in. Rarely is a complete ammolite shell found, most of the time it is just smaller amounts of the aragonite that formed the shell that is mined. Totally smooth ammolite comes from layers buried much deeper underground.

It is called Buffalo Stone by the Blackfeet tribe, believed to draw the buffalo towards the hunt, and is also thought by them to have healing powers. More recently, Feng Shui practitioners have promoted it as having the power to enhance well-being.

A wondrous gem, it blazes with fire and life even though the animal that created it is long dead, having become extinct at the same time as the dinosaurs. Blues and purples are the rarest colors as they come from much deeper in the mines and sediment layers and are also the thinnest of all ammolites.

In jewelry, rings made from ammolite are rare because the delicacy of the gemstone makes it more suitable for use in pendants, earrings and brooches. Often you will find the pieces as doublets where some of the material it is found in is either left behind on the back or added to it, giving it more stability and in some cases depth. Triplets are the least valuable – that is when a convex layer of synthetic quartz or clear material is laid on top of the ammolite, further protecting it.

When I die , I want my remains to turn into gold or diamond......|AWESOME-- I hope that squids today can turn itself into black diamonds.| I've watched a program here in korea featuring ammolites from the himalayan mountains...but the above's rarest of its kind!

Malachite has a long history with the Egyptian cultures going as far back as 4000 B.C.. The ancient Egyptians obtained their malachite from the Sinai peninsula and used it most often in amulets and statues. In the Egyptian Book of the Dead it is said that the goddess of the sky "drops stars on the earth in the shape of green stones."

The stone was one of the prime gemstones used for power by the upper class in Egypt, the headdresses of pharaohs were often lined with malachite, as this was said to raiser the ruler's vibrations to a higher level and open him to wise council.

there is an ancient Russian legend that says anyone who drinks from a goblet made of malachite will have the power to understand the language of the animals bestowed upon him.

One other unique use for this stone for face adornment. The stone was ground to a fine powder and Egyptian woman used it as eye makeup to paint their eyelids and eyelashes.

Malachite is often referred to as the Peacock Stone, as it was considered sacred to the goddess Juno, whose sacred bird was the peacock; as well, the eye like pattern within the stone resembles the eye like pattern on peacock feathers.

Gods creation is more beautiful than man. :)| Malachites stone drop from the sky through the head of a peacock,, that's why, that animal turned into a color green. Hehe.. Funny story from funny comics.|it's not a "new breed" gemstone. it has been there since the egyptian civilization. it's just now, that we noticed those.|

Water is one of the sources of life and one of substances that kill fire. But believe it or not, the town of Sta. Barbara in central Iloilo has been gaining attention because of its “burning” and, yes, drinking water the folks have been fetching on its “flaming” faucets.

The pressurized free-flowing water, when sparked by a match or lighter, catches fire enough to light a cigarette. On instances, the water flows from the faucet with bubbles, and one only have to do proper timing to ignite it when the bubbles disappear, shared Ken Junsay of Iloilo Tour Guides Cooperative (I-Guides).

Junsay said they are introducing the “flaming” faucet located inside the campus of Sta. Barbara Central Elementary School (SBCES) as a point of interest to tourists and visitors.

Word of mouth has it that “it is methane gas that causes poso water to burn.”

Catch this hot topic on Jessica Soho tonight.

Coal seam gas mining does this as well.| which means the water was exposed to many chemicals and substances. for all we know, this could contain a pint of kerosene, acid rain, ethyl or transparent chemicals.| I just waiting for someone to say its holy| the land is toxicated by some factories nearby..| I believe this is also called "tubig nga pula" or "red water" because of the color. (kindly correct me if i'm wrong.) In 1995, there are 3 locations of these spring water accessible to the public. These were made to provide free and safe drinking water to the towns folk during that time. It's a lifesaving water sources during el nino or dry seasons. The water taken in these 3 different locations vary in intensity of the color (reddish yellow), which is equivalent to the mineral content dissolved in the water. They say "It's better than the typically bought mineral water." It does have a distinctive aftertaste. That is due to the minerals dissolved in it. The government officials of sta. barbara already had these spring water tested before, around 1980s - 90s. That's why it was famed as "the safest water" in the island. I'm not sure nowadays though... Hope this could help.| You can find it also at kabankalan city, negros occ. people has been using it for many years,| for more than a hundred years people drink that water and they have long life thats my hometown|

A unique and unusual dive site off the coast of Key Largo, Florida has been drawing attention and attracting thousands of Scuba divers and snorkelers alike for more than just its reef and marine life. In the midst of this dive site, a spectacular bronze sculpture of Jesus Christ stands 81/2 feet tall in 25 feet of water with a grandeur like no other. Christ’s arms raised toward
s the surface in a pose offering peace, the underwater statue has a presence that has made it one of the most famous and visited underwater sites on Earth.

Created by Guido Galletti, the original “Il Cristo degli Abissi” or ‘Christ of the Abyss’ was made after an idea from Italian swimmer / diver Duilio Marcante. The First statue was placed near the spot where Dario Gonzatti, the first Italian to use SCUBA gear, died in 1947. Placed in 1954, this Statue of Christ is located in the Mediterranean sea off San Fruttuoso between Camogli and Portofino on the Italian Riviera, where it still stands today.
The Second statue cast from the same mold was placed underwater off the coast of St George in the Caribbean. The Third Christ sculpture presented to the Underwater Society of America in New York in 1962 is the one that lies in Dry Rocks, around six miles North east of Key Largo in the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Florida.

Also known as ‘Christ of the Deep’ the 400 pound statue attached to a 20,000 pound concrete base, stands in a shallow reef and has splendid and massive brain coral formations flanking it’s surroundings. The sandy clearing it lies in is home to large spotted Eagle Rays and Southern Stingrays, while it’s base is encrusted with flat coral and sponges.

One of the most heavily visited underwater structures of all times, the Christ dive site is very popular location for underwater weddings and nearly 200 couples say (or write) their “I do’s” here each year. However popular for good reason, the site can be a bit cumbersome to dive because of how shallow the water can be. A caution to fellow divers who wish to dive here, is a need to exercise good buoyancy control and not use your buoyancy compensators as much to avoid bumping into the coral. The tell tales signs of significant damage site has experienced from incompetent divers and snorkelers who stand on or touch the corals is clear and if proper care isn’t taken the site just won’t be the same for very long.

A true Jubilee for the divers, the Christ of Abyss is a must-dive site , if you can over come the crowd of snorkelers and divers present at any time. A spectacle that can only be experienced and not described, the Christ statue has a presence underwater which can be felt when you dive there.

I want to dive into that place. :) I love you Christ.| I scuba dived there and I even have a picture to prove it|
one of my dream dive sites|I've this close & personal...on the plaque by his feet there is a dedication to some1 named not the Dr & don't try to hug him as he is covered in fire coral which when touched by bare skin feels like a thousand burning needles shooting into you...btw|ndeed bermuda triangle is true. it is a fact. the issue is whether the mysteries attributed to the are true.|

The Bible - A Reader's Guide

The bible addresses human depravity, how could it not speak of those things in a manner that is not superficial?
Athiest's don't spend as much time criticising Islam? You obviously never read much Hitchins, and his little 4 horseman clan.
Or much of the mainstream press as it happens.
@ Erik Im atheist and I don't restrict myself to criticizing christians, all religions are delusional, pointless, forms of mind control and frankly theyre all responsible for poisoning the lives of billions of people throughout history. Even if any religion was right, (which they arent) all religious text was written by man and man on the whole is not to be trusted
The problem is not God or religion but the ground staff!
you forgot the bits about Love, Forgiveness Selflessness, Honour, Respect, Hope, Humility, Grace, Courage, Sacrifice (the good kind), Thankfulness, Equality (every one has fallen short and God doesn't rate sin), Charity, Justice, Redemption... etc ....Yes those and those horrible things that you've mentioned are in there but it wouldn't be a book about LIFE and God if the whole scope of life wasn't covered as far as I'm concerned the only thing that's missing is aliens.
@carl if man is not to be trusted then why should I trust what you just said? If we are to disbelieve everything that is written by men then I suppose we shouldn't trust any book as they are all written by men and women.
Yeah, I know what you mean about religious propaganda. I was brainwashed by religion, too.
Bible written by MAN. MAN is fallible and greedy and judgemental. You may as well follow the Calvin & Hobbes compendium! LOL
anti religious propaganda Serena? Just love how some people get out of joint when their faith is tested, rather than suggest why its wrong. So tell us what part of this is propaganda, inaccurate or poor in quality? Are any of those bullets points listed not covered in the bible?
Reminds me of the military regimes in Amerika, 2011-2013
atheist don't discriminate they attack muslims too, well all religious cults attack each other....hate in the name of god, pretty insane...... and by all cults I include atheism in the bunch
again if man is fallible then what you just said is fallible
Anti-religious propaganda? This is real stuff......."Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse." (1 Peter 2:18 NAB) Someone took the time to make graphic art out of one of the most deceiving books ever written, one that brainwashes the masses. Not down with the bible, but down for creative licensing through art.
Let's all have a big fight over the existence of God! Yay!
AND... you are only as good as your weakest link... the bible also talks about those other "good" things, but is full of these "weak" links. So i wouldn't feel right referencing it in any way...those things about respect, hope, grace, etc., they're qualities that humans are intuitively aware of...not because the bible says so.
Exactly. And what you said is also fallible. BTW I've got an excellent relationship with God; we're just allergic to religious bullshit.
ah the honest truth of the history of mankind...the bible doesnt lie
You could apply many of these things to various non-religious governments as well. Like USSR, North Korea, China, Cambodia, etc.
you are citing a text that is 2000 years old, the slavery of that time period was not like the slaver of African Americans in US. When you judge a text like that by modern standards you are assuming that the modern way of seeing thing...s is the right way, which by the way is narrow minded.
Second there are a plethora of texts that prohibit involuntary servitude. For example in 1Timothy1:9-10 the involuntary enslaving of people is mentioned along with other human sins.
Exodus 21:16 also portrays human trafficking negatively.

I think this is what pervert love about this book, all that good stuff,
I'm Atheist, that's my personal belief. Some people like to believe in Mohammed some people Jesus some people have hundreds of Gods, their beliefs do not affect me in the slightest. What's the harm? Live and let live
ISLAM the true religion of God. Our Holy book is the true words of Allah (GOD) same as it was 1400 years ago. However, as a muslim I respect Christianity too. Remember "Death", no science can stop this. We will return to Allah...MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH YOU....
I agree 100%, just trying to figure out why some people feel the need to attack others for thinking differently than them.
All religion is hypocritical and evil and subjective to at least one group of people, namely women and people of opposite religions (regardless of how similar they are).
God Squadders need sectioning. They are suspect in all their judgements.
hope and grace are
Things humans are intuitively aware of? Tell that to the people that survived the holocaust.
In fact try raising a kid w/o teaching them right from wrong and see how they turn out.
What the bible says about humanity is true. We are a messed up people, radically depraved, who if left to themselves would... Well look at the world.

Having been a Christian and a Jew, I don't partake in patriarchal religions anymore, esp. seeing how these religions treat women. The Muslim religion I wouldn't go near with a ten foot pole! I'm not a bigot, to each his or her own. What's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another person and these religions just aren't right for me! I don't think the universal power that is will mind a bit! :)
the bible was made to slow the problems a scare people into thinking they are doing wrong and used to rule the poor and to take from the poor to give to the rich power at the time just like kings they wanted you to do what they said or your... head would be off its all about who has power be human injoy your life who care's about a book or a god that controls your mind they would lock you away for haveing a fake friend that you talked to what if i put u away cause you talk to yourself

Singapore is a FINE city.

Singapore has been well-known as a "fine" city, which has been embedded with two different meanings. One as a fine city to be living in while another means fines that keep the country in order.
Singapore is famous for being the cleanest city in the world. Tourists will be astonished and impressed by the strict rules and regulations formed by the Singapore government.

Better if you posted signs one by one with description and meaning for viewers understanding. |  we need to implement more "fines" in our cities here in order to discourage the people more while also have the "funds" from these fines to provide materials like more garbage cans, signs and others. | Singapore is a FINE city because double standards | That's what makes Singapore incredibly | -- FB Comments --

Bullfrog Served ALIVE at Japanese Restaurant

A video shot in Japan recently went viral after it showed a bullfrog served in a Japanese restaurant still blinking and twitching on the plate, after being skinned alive and cut into pieces.

This is definitely one of the most disgusting things we've ever seen. Singaporean website STOMP recently released a series of photos and a video shot in a Japanes...e restaurant where apparently people like to eat bullfrogs while they’re still alive. The video shows a customer going into the restaurant and how the cook there simply picks up a big frog, sticks a knife in it, removes all its inedible innards and skins it alive. Then the focus moves on the smiling customers who enjoys a healthy serving of bullfrog sashimi while the animal is looking at her from her plate, blinking and twitching… That doesn’t seem to bother the young woman much, as she even gives the thumb-up sign for the quality of the dish.

Ewwwwwww , WTF?? I Understand Different Cultures Eat Different Things But ALIVE , Really?? That's Not Even Healthy! | All living creatures be it big or small have a certain right in this world.. Poor frog. | how can u not find this distressing , eating it alive is not humain WOTS WRONG WITH U | you have no idea.....the things I've read about their culture will make u throw up >.< |  Our ancestors did the same thing, maybe even more disgusting for you, before they discovered fire. I dont see anything wrong with this | this is disturbing :( poor frog.. | LOL for others that think this is wrong. You are all ignorant. Haven't you heard of the word "taboo". What might be disgusting for us is not disgusting for theirs at all. | Interesting. Does she eat the frog fully? :)) |  ugh the japs never seize to make me twitch | This actually made me cry !! That poor frog. Sick bastards | -- FB Comments --

Jose Rizal is identified as the Second Christ or the Brown Christ of Rizalista cults. Some of the Rizalistas believed that Rizal has an apparent parallelism to Jesus Christ in many ways. Other's belived that Rizal is the messiah of the Philippines just like Jesus Christ as messiah of Israel. There were also those who believed that Rizal was the re-incarnation of Christ.

These beliefs of the groups were based on the similarities of the two. They said that both of them were morally upright and exemplary in their own rights, they possess extraordinary character and have the purest intention in pursuing their missions. Also, they were both pious and Asians, and both from a country under colonial rule during their time. Also, the two were advocates of solidarity, equality and peaceful coexistence in spite of differences in social status, ethnicity and creed. and many more, such as, they were both healers and great visionaries, they advocate of reform and peaceful means to carry out their missions, strongly denounced prejudice, apathy, immorality and cruelty.

They were also victims of trial and mockery, their teachings influence people around the world and most importantly, they were executed by their enemy and died for a noble cause and they believe that "following Rizal's teachings will result in their country's advancements . "

"fighting on the internet is like running in the special olympics... even if you win, you are still retarded"... |  criticize ...but no bad words :), anyway, here's my comment...SERIOUSLY?!?!?!...THAT'S WHY THE WORLD OR UNIVERSE IS IN TROUBLE!! |  Why do religions matter anyway? | Cult is a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc. |  this is a fact, they really exist, therefore this is not an opinion |  Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and beliefs so be it...for as long as they don't kill, steal or do anything that will harm others let them believe what they wishes to believe; there are many people who believ in Jesus and yet doesnot live in a christian way... | "Disagreements are fine, but mutual respect is a must. They are responsible for what their post , and they are not responsible for what we understand. :) " BOOM! |  I Saw them in Quezon Province. Their Religion is accepted by The government and its legal. and they are not a cult. they will get angry if you called them a cult. |  ‎1 thing Rizal cant do is to heal someone..... | They didn't read the Bible. |  But Rizal or Jose or Pepe, is only a Man that reveal all the treachryness of the Spañards. | -- FB Comments --

The French Egyptologist Louis Caparat had discovered in 1988 in a secret room of the Great Pyramid, a humanoid inside of a box of crystalline appearance. The humanoid appeared in hibernation or apparent death.

A papyrus found in the vicinity would tell his encounter with the Pharaoh Khufu convinced that he would build the Great Pyramid as a tomb for him after he had announced the future arrival of other beings of his species. Source: the Egyptian magazine "Rose El-Yussuf" relayed by "The World Of The Unknown" in Issue 283 April 2000. The people who lived in Egypt during the Neolithic period was already very mixed and it was mostly dolichocephalic and belonged to both a Mediterranean and Negroid. Dolichocephalic: The term comes from ancient Greek "kephale" (Cephalus) which means "head" and "dolikhos" (dolichocephalic) which means "long, elongated.

But it turns out that the CIA has banned archaeologists to excavate in some areas ... Journalists had already noticed that the CIA was very invested to make itself its own excavations. three inputs (hidden) that provide access to the halls under the Sphinx are prohibited ...

It will then spread the rumor that they discovered not one but nine chambers under the Sphinx, some of which contained metal objects. The head of the leak is none other than Graham Hancock.

If the intelligence agencies want their hands on a device, or on documents, it means they think that the civilization of ancient Egypt was, in some areas, much more advanced than ours. It goes back to the idea of a vanished people, but which had once reached a very advanced stage of development, unless both of aliens, as explained Robert Temple in The Sirius Mystery, and genesis in the bible "" the son of God saw the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took them wives which they chose among them. (...) There were giants in the earth in those days, and also later, because the son of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children: these are powerful men who, from ancient times, were men of renown "(Genesis 6: 2-4)

Greek mythology refers to these heroes of giants named néfé that are fallen angels who have taught men math, writing, music, witchcraft, astrology, all these lessons are listed in the Cabala, which caused many crusades to acquire these secret prisoners to Jerusalem.

Why make the chambers classified on Egyptians? They must share the truth about history. | all of you say, I DO BELIEVE IN ALIEN.. let's bring back to life that one lol :)) |  The MOST powerful words from science: "We are not alone." | in the ancient egypt once a baby was born they supposed to squeeze its head to deform and for it to look like these being they called god the one they worship the one that came from heaven to earth.. | it can't be artificial cranial deformation, its similar to a noemal skull's shape but bigger | google Artificial Cranial Deformation | only forensic experts could tell that if it is just a child with abnormality or it is an alien! | does it mean the bigger your head, the more intelligent you are? wow! mine is down below instead of..... | i believe the existance of the Aliens but not GOD promise.! | I think it's just a kid with Hydrocephalus. | That looks like a child with a condition referred to as hydrocephalus | aliens taught us music? now we know where lady gaga came from | teaches math writing music witchcraft" yes who knows? they exist | -- FB Comments --

Cutest Mammal Around: The Fennec Fox

The Fennec Fox is a small nocturnal fox found in the north of the Sahara Desert of North Africa which has distinctively large ears.

Its name comes from the Arabic fenek, a term for various fur-bearing animals. The coats are often a sandy color, allowing them to blend with their desert surroundings.

Its characteristic ears serve to dissipate heat and to hear the movement of prey at night. The fennec is the smallest species of canid in the world; coat, ears and kidney functions have adapted to a high-temperature, low-water, desert environment.

In addition, its hearing is sensitive enough to hear prey moving underground. It mainly eats insects, small mammals, and birds.

The fennec has a life span of up to 14 years in captivity. Its main predators are the African varieties of eagle owl. Families of fennecs dig out dens in sand for habitation and protection, which can be as large as 120 m2 (1,292 sq ft) and adjoin the dens of other families. Precise population figures are not known but are estimated from the frequency of sightings; these indicate that the animal is currently not threatened by extinction.

Knowledge of social interactions is limited to information gathered from captive animals. The species is usually assigned to the genus Vulpes; however, this is debated due to differences between the fennec fox and other fox species. The fennec's fur is prized by the indigenous peoples of North Africa, and in some parts of the world, the animal is considered an exotic pet.

not to be mean but they are not pets... they are wild animals and should not be harm....WHY do you people keep making these beautiful creature extinct in our world ...... >: | -- FB Comments --

Fresh fruit,...So healthy we are not allowed to touch it ...

Scotland stun Australia 9-6 | we can eat the fruits , but stay away from the pestisiders! | how is changing the structure of an organism so it can withstand MORE chemicals, or that it actually contains pesticide itself, supposed to be better than this? GMO encourages this type of behavior, not protects us from it. We have our own strawberry patch at home (from organic starters bought at the local farmer's market) | this is why i love living in the country i can grow my own crops and make sure the meat i eat is given hormones or any other hurtful things to us i am a city girl turned country and living every mins of it | its ok for migrant workers to handle it though because if they are not citizens then it does not matter | "Many of Monsanto's seed products are specifically genetically modified to make them resistant to Monsanto produced agricultural chemicals, such as "Round Up" herbicide. In a study published in the International Journal of Biological Sciences, researchers applied a different statistical analysis on raw data obtained from Monsanto and concluded that these GM corn (maize) varieties induced a state of hepatorenal toxicity" | I still have a hard time understanding why genetic modification of food is so bad if theyre doing it to make bigger, more delicious fruit....? Could someone explain that to me? Because to me right now it sounds like the equivalent of telling someone who has sliiightly blurry vision they can't have glasses for no good reason. Idk, maybe i'm just being silly, but i don't get it. Also i don't have the toxic 'berries problem cuz all of mine are locally and naturally grown by farmers in the area c: | The bigger the monoculture - the more chemical agents are needed. | Chris K Cook - In most cases plants are genetically modified in order to withstand higher doses of pesticide/fungicide/herbicide etc. Soya grown for animal feed is a classic example of this. | Strawberries are among the worst. Buy organic. | and callum... do you work for monsato?.. there is a huge difference between selective breeding to create better plants and GMO foods... Twat...uttter and total twat | Anyone ever thought that maybe the "pests" are us? | Chris Cook- you are an arse!.... its not that we NEED to do is so they make more money. sell more fruit so it can be throwb away by supermarkets. | Strawberries are heavily sprayed. NEVER ear without washing! | That is exactly what's happening with GM. People are failing to research and understand the facts and they're being fed shit by others that are scared and ignorant, breeding hate. Get your facts straight people. | Before you go any further, just know that I do agree that pesticides are used far too much and in short, they really are shit. What this post is about is to just set a few people right.

I agree with Chris K Cook and Cortex Libra. 1. It's shooped... I can tell by the pixels. and 2. There is nothing wrong with genetic modification. If you're against it, then just stop eating. Nearly all the food you eat has been modified genetically.

The meat you eat has been bred using different breeds to ensure high yield and suitability for the environment it lives in. The same with vegetables. Ever heard of Francis Bacon? This guy played with peas or beans (I can never remember which) cross pollinating different plants and species to be able to achieve a higher yielding, healthier plant. That is genetic modification on a simple level. That was being done in the Elizabethan era. |
The pesticide industry has learned the lessons of tobacco exceedingly well. | The pesticide industry is working very hard on trying to keep these emerging data from the public and deny the evidence of harm with government regulators. | Pesticides are causing other serious public health problems. Here's a literature review from the Ontario College of Family Physicians detailing birth defects, infertility, cancers, neuro-developmental and other health issues associated with common pesticides. | Not unrelated... Has anyone over the age of 20 noticed the difference in insect population (you know the pollinators) compared with even ten years ago? There has been a very noticeable DEVASTATING decline! | Probably vitamin pills , they will be healthier than any kind of food, that humans have touched and mutilated | Well Id worry more about the migrant workers who's employer does NOT provide a toilet so they go potty IN the fields they pic. Peligro is a Spanish word so this is probably California | ats why all the rich people people live next nuclear reactors, because it is so safe * not* | Strawberries are one of the highest pesticide carriers and the hardest to protect with their thin skin. Strawberries are one of the fruits you should only eat if its organic. Or you could grow your own? Getting back to this pic though, the skull and cross bones just looks wrong! Complete assbackwards this world has become in the corporate world. We the people need to change that. | The days where you could go out to the forest and pick wild blackberries etc. and not worry about them being covered in radioactive dust are over. Thanks very much. | its interesting that everybody who i have ever heard complain that eating organic was 'expensive' had no problem buying products simply because it had a desired logo on it smh | What a ridiculous argument Chris K Cook - keep gmo in the lab where it belongs not in my food - you can yield much more organic food per acre than any other!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Strawberries are one of the most toxic of fruit.
Unless you go for organic, grown at home. |
Well you hippes complain when they want to Genetically Modify it so they don't need to do this... | ‎*that noise you make in despair while rolling your eyes in disbelief - like a groan and a sigh together* what we all havin for lunch, then? | -- FB Comments --

SOFIA, Bulgaria – Bulgarian archaeologists say they have unearthed centuries-old skeletons pinned down through their chests with iron rods -- a practice believed to stop the dead from becoming vampires.

'These two skeletons stabbed with rods illustrate a practice common up until the first decade of the 20th century.'
- National history museum chief Bozhidar Dimitrov

According to Bozhidar Dimitrov, head of the National History Museum in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, two skeletons from the Middle Ages were found in such a state last weekend near the Black Sea town of Sozopol.

He said Tuesday that corpses were regularly treated in such a way before being buried in some parts of Bulgaria, even until the beginning of the last century.

Widespread superstition led to iron rods being hammered through the chest bones and hearts of those who did evil during their lifetimes for fear they would return after death to feast on the blood of the living.

According to Dimitrov, over 100 corpses stabbed to prevent them from becoming vampires have been discovered across Bulgaria over the years.

"I do not know why an ordinary discovery like that [has] became so popular. Perhaps because of the mysteriousness of the word "vampire," he said.

blade is gonna explain something |  The superstition must be true... No smoke without fire..probably they experienced vampirism during those era..that's why they did it..OR they just being ignorant... |  it was changed so that no one will be mislead, sorry for the misleading title before. | there were never vampires. ah movies... |  But they are not the real vamps with evil wings and a saber tooth. I've watched it on Nat Geo. | why did they not check the set of teeth to see if it has some unusual incisors that are the characteristic of a vampire? this is ridiculous, they focused too much on the chest stab lol |  i dont think this is a proof that vampires exist, rather its a proof that people in the early days believed in vampires and superstition, very interesting read... | Vampires are immortal??? Dafuq did i just read..then what movie is that??? Twilight SAGAY?? | thats probably edward.. | WoW! its true? but in the movie the vampire are Immortal? | -- FB Comments --

The lizard in this photo is not being manipulated (not a photo manipulation). It is now the latest exotic pet craze. Mwanza flat-headed agama's vivid blue-and-red colouring, is a lizard that has a body skin colour similar to Spiderman. Agamas, which are native to Kenya can be good pets, as they become tame and docile if handled regularly.

It can grow up to a foot long, and a balanced diet for them includes locusts, crickets, meal worms and wax worms. They are unable to throw webs, but can change colour – the brightly coloured males will change brown at night or if frightened. They can also run on their hind legs, and can scale vertical walls like spiders.

Lizards can walk upside down as we see in ceilings. They have antigravity that they are not affected by earth's pulls.  | -- FB Comments --

Like many other animal lovers, Dutch artist Bart Jansen found it hard to part with his pet cat, Orville, after he was hit by a car. So he decided to turn the dead feline into a unique piece of artwork called the Orvillecopter.

Jansen named his beloved pet after the famous aviator Orville Wright, so I guess it makes perfect sense that he decided to turn the cat into a remote-controlled helicopter. After having the Orville stuffed by a taxidermist, the artist teamed up with radio-controlled helicopter expert Arjen Beltman to make the cat fly for the first time. Beltman designed a custom mechanism and attached it to the stuffed cat to create a truly bizarre flying machine called the Orvillecopter. Bart Jansen unveiled his unique creation on Saturday, at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam, and described it as half cat, half machine.

“After a period of mourning he received his propellers posthumously,” Jansen said about his purring pet, adding that he will soon be flying with the birds he loved chasing so much. Right now, the Orvillcopter isn’t flying as well as its creators would like, but Jansen assured viewers that “he will receive more powerful engines and larger props for his birthday. So this hopping will soon change into steady flight.”

give the poor feline a decent burial he deserve... |  i dont like this invention, so cruel.. tsk tsk.. >.< |  a frakenstein cat? so cruel. |  read before u criticize the cat got hit by a car and he could not leave the cat because he loves the cat he turned it to like that stupid peps hhehehe | I agree it's not animal cruelty since the Cat was long dead before the transformation. I think it's quite genius. And gosh, how can you compare cats with human. Human is human and Cat is a cat. By the way, some people also makes experiment with human body and did a great job for us to learn many things. The owner just love his cat so much. How can you say it's cruelty. |  I was touched. But i really cant picture out the faces of the birds when they saw the cat flying around like superman. I can imagine they were scared to death. Gosh. I cant stop laughing. LoLest | I can not stop laughing. I love cats. Cats are the most beautiful, loving creatures on earth, but I still cant help it this makes me giggle. He has a matter of fact expression as hes flying around. lol. its not cruel, lighten up he's giving his pet cat the gift of flight, and scare the shit out of birds. omg this is great | I was thinking if he had a pet elephant that died. Will he turn the elephant into a full size helicopter? | If we know how to respect a HUMAN BODY...i guess animals desrves Respect for thier bodies too. | PETA will surely hunt this guys for sure :D | If animals can talk. And fellow cats see this. You think they'll like it? | I think it's cool! The cat was roadkill & he created art & preserved it's legacy (; | On the contrary, he loved his cat very much. :) | Nice work of art, but PETA will surely whine and complain about this as they think it was animal cruelty. HOW CAN THIS BE ANIMAL CRUELTY IF THE ANIMAL IS DEAD??? | -- FB Comments --
